We are The Chicago Style BotDogs, FRC Team #4645, the varsity-level robotics team from Lane Tech High School in Chicago, Illinois. We are a diverse group of dedicated students from one of Chicago Public Schools' most selective schools, and we are entering our tenth year competing in the FIRST Robotics Challenge (FRC).

FIRST Robotics allows students worldwide to experience firsthand practical engineering with the support of professional engineers and mentors. In an intense eight-week Build Season, teams are challenged to design, build, program, and test an industrial-grade robot that can accomplish tasks unique to each year’s competition. It is with great pleasure that we extend to you an invitation of partnership with our program during this season!

The Chicago Style BotDogs is a strong Robotics Team with eight successful seasons beneath our belt.
Over the course of our team, we have won:

  • 2013 Rookie All-Star Award

  • 2014 Engineering Inspiration Award

  • 2015 Judges Award

  • 2018 Central Illinois Regional

  • 2016, 2017, 2022, 2023 Spirit Award

Moreover, we have qualified for the FIRST Robotics World Championship Tournament thrice and placed among the top third of all of the international teams that competed all three times!

The cost of running an FRC team is quite high, and our team relies heavily on corporate and community
sponsorships to make this program possible. The cost breakdown for the program is included below, and upon review, it is evident that our team could not exist without the generosity of our corporate and community sponsors!

In addition to contributing to our successful and highly impactful program, there are practical benefits to
sponsoring our team as well. At every level of contribution, sponsor logos are displayed on our webpage and all promotional materials we create. In previous years, this included a video our team made to promote FIRST Robotics--that was sent to every school in Chicago and tweeted to over 17,000 people. At higher sponsorship levels, sponsor logos are placed on our team uniform and on the robot itself! We also like to come up with creative ways of thanking our partners. We have appeared in two commercials for one of our sponsors. Our team has also run demos at local elementary schools and has helped to start several elementary school teams. Our team members have logged over 3,500 volunteering hours and presented at major Chicago institutions such as the Museum of Science and Industry and Northwestern University. We proudly display our sponsor logos at these events and remind everyone we meet that our team wouldn’t exist without the support of our sponsors.

Your sponsorship will help pave the way for future generations of mathematicians, scientists, and engineers. Former team members have moved on from the program to study Computer Science and Engineering at universities such as Harvard, Stanford, Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, and UIUC (just to name a few!). We hope that you will kindly consider partnering with our program. Below is more detailed information about our financial needs and how you can become involved in sponsoring our team. Should you have any further questions, please contact our coach, Robert Berg, at rberg@cps.edu.
