The Chicago Style Botdogs
FRC Team 4645: Student-founded, Student-driven, Student-led.
Our Team at a Glance
The Chicago Style Botdogs, officially FRC Team 4645, is a robotics team with a diverse and talented background of 100+ students. From encouraging opportunities in STEM to helping other FRC teams, our team aims to benefit the surrounding communities near Lane Tech and Chicago through mentoring students and promoting robotics. Our team is almost entirely student-led: the core components of leadership, design, and execution are decisions made at the student's discretion.
Since our rookie year of 2013, we have:
-
Two times qualified for the FIRST World Championship.
-
Six separate Spirit Awards at the Illinois Central Competition.
-
Taught essential engineering and technology skills to past and current members.
-
Supported other FRC and FLL teams in their team design plan and structure.
-
Proud contributor to promoting CSEdWeek at Lane Tech.

Field Testing
Our team is completing their final adjustments on our competition robot with our in-house field elements, which include full-scale replicas of the stage, amp, and speaker. While we have encountered some errors within our design, our team is diligently repairing and modifying our robot as quickly as possible for the best possible result at our first competition, the Wisconsin Regional. No matter what happens, the Chicago Style Botdogs will be prepared to tackle any competition ahead of us.
Robot Reveal
In only four more days, our team will release our competition robot to the public on March 6th, 2024. Sponsors, parents, and other students are graciously invited to Lane Tech from 5:00-5:30 PM to witness our 2024 competition robot for the first time this season. We're incredibly thankful for all the support from sponsors, coaches, and mentors this season!
